This project by our postdoctoral researcher Francisca Ortiz examines in detail care and support networks for the elderly in a district of Santiago de Chile.

The effects of time on the dynamics of these relationships will also be analyzed, that is, how they are maintained and for what reasons they end. The project will consist of surveys and in-depth interviews with the study subjects.

Specific objectives:

• Identify and describe the networks of older people, with emphasis on gender and age.
• Develop typologies on care and support networks for the elderly.
• Evaluate the relevance of the time that passes between networks to visualize the dynamics of maintenance and end of these relations.
